The Senior
Pastor is the spiritual leader and shepherd of the congregation. The Senior
Pastor encourages and works towards an organized process in the life and
work of the church along with other spiritual and ministry leaders. The
Senior Pastor is responsible for providing spiritual oversight to the
spiritual leaders and the congregation through the preaching and teaching of
the Gospel of Jesus Christ while upholding the mission of Bethany Christian
Church.
Elders
Elders are spiritual leaders appointed
by the Senior Pastor to jointly oversee the affairs of the congregation. The
Elders share the duties and responsibilities of the church along with the
Senior Pastor as set forth by the scriptures and the Constitution
and By-laws of Bethany Christian
Church.
Ministers
Ministers are
clergy persons whose ordinations or licenses have been recognized by the
Senior Pastor. Ministers may also include persons who are being prepared for
licensure or ordination having acknowledged their call to ministry and in
some cases pursuing seminary education. Ministers are spiritual leaders who
are faithful and active members of the church.
Deacons
Deacons are
spiritual
leaders appointed by the Senior Pastor
to serve
those in need and to assist the Senior Pastor in the proclamation of
the Gospel and the administration
of the sacraments. Deacons undergird and support the Pastor at all times.
Deacons provide guidance, leadership, encouragement and
enhance the spiritual growth of the church as well as the community.
Deacons prepare and serve communion, minister to the sick and
shut-in, and bereaved members.
General Board
The General
Board is responsible for receiving reports from ministers,
officers, and the various ministries of Bethany Christian Church.
The General Board is responsible for conducting all legal business matters
of the congregation and carrying out other responsibilities as defined by
the Constitution and By-laws of Bethany Christian Church.
Music Ministry
The Music
Ministry ushers the people of God into the presence of the Lord so that
God's word goes forth with clarity and boldness. The Music Ministry consists
of the Early Morning Choir, Male Chorus, Mass Choir,
Praise Team, Young Adult /Youth Choir, musicians and
directresses.
Ministry Leaders
Ministry
leaders are members of the congregation appointed by the Senior Pastor with
the responsibility of initiating and coordinating the program and work of
the church. Ministry leaders also provide spiritual, social,
and service opportunities for the church.
